What is Zentangle?
Zentangle is a deliberate art form, focused on the process, not the results. Classes are structured to help you learn the rituals and skills necessary to continue your practice and offer a supportive environment with time to answer your questions. Previous art and drawing experience is not required.
The Zentangle Method is an easy-to-learn, relaxing, and fun way to create beautiful images by drawing structured patterns. Almost anyone can use it to create beautiful images. It increases focus and creativity, provides artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being.
What do I need to bring?
Supplies are included in the cost of the class fee, including supplies that you may take home to continue your exploration.
Do you wear glasses for reading or other close up work? It is recommended that you bring your reading glasses to make your experience easier and more enjoyable.
If you bring coffee, water or tea, please make sure it is in a container with a secure lid, you wouldn’t want to spill on your table-mate’s work!
What experience should I have?
Zentangle is about the process, and practice. No prior experience required!
I don’t always have a steady hand – should I take a class?
Yes! The Zentangle Method is a practice that is about finding a quiet place and focus in your mind, it is about using art for relaxation and increasing your focus and mindfulness. It is not about drawing straight lines and perfect circles, and often the little wiggles and diversions of your line make it much more interesting.
Students from 7 to 97 have all enjoyed the process of learning, practicing – and the results!
